Panhandle Research Receives Funding for Dry Bean and Pulse Crop Research

The Panhandle Research Extension and Education Center plant pathology program recently received new USDA specialty crop block grants. The funding will be used to focus on the efficacy of copper alternative chemicals to products on fungal and bacterial diseases of dry beans, chickpeas, and dry peas. Another project includes the collection of rhizoctonia root rot isolates found in pulse crops and evaluating them as potential pathogens on dry beans.
