Senate Agriculture Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow, and ranking member John Boozman are just a few minds overseeing the effort to update the next farm bill. The Specialty Crop Alliance has released their priorities for the next farm bill and want lawmakers to authorize funds for research into automation and mechanization, raise income thresholds that currently limit eligibility for some USDA programs, promote exports, provide subsidized crop insurance tailored to specialty crops, and give greater access to conservation and disaster assistance.
