Double-Digit Increases for ND Cropland Values

North Dakota cropland values increased 11 percent in the past year. However, cash rental rates only went up three percent. The survey conducted by the North Dakota Department of Trust Lands found the highest increase in land values were in southeastern North Dakota, up more than 22 percent. The southern Red River Valley had the most expensive farmland with an average of $4,500 per acre. The southern Valley also has the highest cropland rental rates, averaging $133 per acre.
