According to USDA’s Crop Progress Report, dry edible bean condition in North Dakota rated 15% very poor, 34% poor, 38% fair, 11% good, and 2% excellent. Blooming was 76%, ahead of 69% last year, but near 78% average. Setting pods was 29%, ahead of 24% last year.
Topsoil moisture supplies in North Dakota were rated 41% very short, 46% short, 13% adequate, and 0% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 51% very short, 34% short, 15% adequate, and 0% surplus.
In Minnesota, dry beans were 90% blooming and 63% setting pods. Dry bean condition declined to 26% good to excellent, compared to the previous week’s 30%.
Topsoil moisture supplies in Minnesota were rated 37% very short, 44% short, 19% adequate and 0% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were rated 32% very short, 48% short, 20% adequate and 0% surplus.
