Weekly Dry Bean Market Review

Compared to last week, dry bean product movement and trade activity remain light on moderate demand, as defensive trading strategies continue throughout the industry. Prices remain mostly steady to firm as weather conditions including drought and higher than normal temperatures persist and worsen throughout many of growing regions.

USDA Market News puts the grower price for black beans in North Dakota and Minnesota at $38-to-$40 per hundredweight (cwt). Pinto bean prices are at $38-to-$40 per cwt. Navy beans are at $33 per cwt. Dark red and light red kidney bean prices are at $44-to-$47 per cwt.
