Crop Progress Report – June 21, 2021

According to USDA’s Crop Progress Report, dry edible bean condition rated 14% very poor, 24% poor, 44% fair, 17% good, and 1% excellent. Emergence was 91%, ahead of 75% last year, and near 88% average.
 
Topsoil moisture supplies rated 31% very short, 41% short, 27% adequate, and 1% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 44% very short, 35% short, 20% adequate, and 1% surplus.
 
In Minnesota, dry bean emergence was 96%, compared to 97% last year and 94% average. Condition ratings come in at 0% very poor, 6% poor, 38% fair, 47% good and 9% excellent.
 
Topsoil moisture supplies were rated 26% very short, 46% short, 27% adequate and 1% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were rated 18% very short, 48% short, 33% adequate and 1% surplus.
 
The dry bean crop in Idaho is 86% emerged and rated 50% good to excellent; Washington is 95% emerged and rated 14% good to excellent; Wyoming is is 65% emerged and 90% planted; Colorado is is 50% emerged and 92% planted; Nebraska is is 70% emerged and 92% planted; and Michigan is is 69% emerged and 94% planted.
