Pinto Beans Purchased

USDA has purchased dry beans under Section 32 for distribution to child nutrition and other domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2021. The purchase includes 2321,360 CS of pinto beans totaling more than $3.4 million.
 

Dry Beans Bought by USDA

USDA purchased dry beans for distribution to the child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2021. Included in the purchase are Great Northern beans, light red kidney beans and pinto beans. The purchase totals more than $6.1 million.

USDA to Purchase Nearly $160 Million in Dry Beans

USDA will purchase $159.4 million in domestically produced dry beans, lentils and other products under Section 32 of the Agricultural Adjustment Act. This is one action the agency is taking to address food supply chain disruptions because of the coronavirus pandemic. Specifically, the purchase includes $4 million in navy beans. Deliveries of the products are expected to begin in mid-August.

Dry Beans Purchased

Dry beans have been purchased by USDA for the USAID P.L.-480 Title II and the FAS McGovern-Dole Food for Education programs. The buy includes 360 metric tons (MT) of black beans and 830 MT of small red beans. No offers were received for 160 MT of small red beans. View the document.

USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service has issued a solicitation for the procurement of dry beans for use in the National School Lunch Program and other Federal Food and Nutrition Assistance Programs.
