New USDBC Staff Join Global Programs

On January 1, Alexander Rowlatt and Russell Patten of Grayling took over the role of representing the U.S. Dry Bean Council in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Based in Brussels and London with offices throughout Europe and the world, Grayling is a Global Public Affairs firm with a unique depth of knowledge working in European and global markets on both policy and promotional issues.

Gulfood Show Results in Trade Leads

The Gulfood was held in February 17-21 in Dubai. Being one of the largest international food trade shows in the world, the show is by far the single largest trade event in the major pulse markets of the Middle East and Southeast Asia. As a trade event, the show is directly behind Anuga and SIAL with 5,000 exhibitors and almost 100,000 trade visitors from 193 countries.
USDBC’s efforts at Gulfood generated the following:
  • 300 trade contacts
  • 236 trade leads from 49 countries
  • 125 buyer/seller meetings
  • Estimated $950,000 value of on-site sales (all pulses)
  • Estimated 12-month projected sales of $8,850,000 generated by contacts made at Gulfood 2019 (all pulses)
