NBGA Research Chair Norm Krause and staff member Mitch Coulter traveled to Minneapolis this week to participate in the 4th Annual Research Spotlight Meeting hosted by the University of Minnesota, Plant Protein Innovation Center. There were over 160 participants from across the world that participated in the event. Plant protein and Ingredient market innovation from crops such as dry bean, pea, lentil, soybean, chickpea, and camelina were the focus of the conference. Two industry panels highlighted the global plant-based market, which is to reach projected $162 billion by 2030. Panel guests included organizational leadership including, Danone NA, Conagra brands, SunOpta, General Mills, Motif FoodWorks Inc., Roquette Inc., Cargill, Applied Food Science, IFF, and Ingredion Inc.
