ND Addresses Trucker Shortage

North Dakota has 49,000 CDL-licensed drivers in the state. That’s down from 52,000 four years ago. Efforts are underway to address the truck driver shortage. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum says a letter has been sent to more than 1,400 individuals in the state who allowed their CDL to lapse. “If you want to reinstate your CDL license, we’ve got a window of opportunity where it is going to be very easy to do that and jump back into that without going through some lengthy state or federal reaffirmation.”
