Total Rail Traffic Down from Last Year

The weekly rail traffic report from the Association of American Railroads shows total weekly rail traffic was 518,800 carloads and intermodal units for the week ending October 17. Total carloads for the week were down 7.5 percent from the same week one year ago at 226,800 cars. Intermodal traffic was up 11.3 percent from last year at 292,000 units.
