Crop Progress – August 26

According to the Weekly Crop Progress report, dry beans dropping leaves in North Dakota is at 39 percent. That’s behind 73 percent last year and 47 percent average. The crop is rating is at 51 percent good to excellent. In Minnesota, dropping leaves is at 15 percent, behind 33 percent last year and 17 percent average. The crop condition received a 65 percent good to excellent rating.
 
The Idaho dry bean crop is rated 57 percent good to excellent and harvest is at 16 percent. In Oregon, 64 percent of dry beans are in good to excellent condition, with harvest at 25 percent. A good to excellent rating of 74 percent was given to dry beans in Washington. USDA is reporting the dry bean and chickpea harvest in Montana at 21 percent complete.
 
The Wyoming dry bean crop is 34 percent turning color, with a 74 percent good to excellent rating. Blooming is at 95 percent in Colorado with a rating of 67 good to excellent. The Michigan dry bean crop is rated 54 percent good to excellent, with 90 percent blooming and 66 percent setting pods.
