According to the Weekly Crop Progress report, dry beans setting pods in North Dakota is at 78 percent, behind 93 percent last year and near 80 percent average. Dropping leaves is at three percent. The crop is rating dropped to 56 percent good to excellent.
In Minnesota, setting pods is at 83 percent. That’s behind 89 percent last year and near 86 percent average. The crop condition declined from the previous week with a 60 percent good to excellent rating.
The Idaho dry bean crop is rated 66 percent good to excellent and harvest is at two percent. In Oregon, 64 percent of dry beans are in good to excellent condition, with harvest at four percent. A good to excellent rating of 65 percent was given to dry beans in Washington. USDA is reporting the dry bean harvest in Montana at one percent complete.
The Wyoming dry bean crop has 45 percent setting pods, with a 73 percent good to excellent rating. Blooming is at 79 percent in Colorado with a rating of 61 good to excellent. The Michigan dry bean crop is rated 57 percent good to excellent, with 66 percent blooming and 24 percent setting pods.
