Bean Harvest Still Rolling in Northeast North Dakota

Northarvest Bean Growers Association President Eric Jorgenson says he’s still wrapping up dry bean harvest near Leeds, North Dakota. “There’s still some edible beans left to be harvested. Maybe just over half of the crop has been harvested so far.” Jorgenson says there’s been about a 400-pound range in yield. “It ranges anywhere from 800-1200 pounds per acre. It’s been a little on the poor side because we’ve been dry all year.” Now though, Jorgenson says they’re fighting mother nature and dewy mornings to finish getting the crop off.
