Warm weather lent a hand to Minnesota farmers and provided 6.2 days of suitable fieldwork for the week ending May 28. According to USDA, topsoil moisture was rated five percent very short, 20 percent short, and 68 percent adequate. Farmers were busy, as dry edible bean planting reached 67 percent with 19 percent emerged, compared to last week’s 27 percent planted. Minnesota is still ahead of the five-year average of 55 percent planted at this time of year.
