According to the latest USDA planting intentions report, total U.S. dry edible bean acres are forecast at 1.23 million, down slightly from the 1.25 million acres planted in 2022. Minnesota acres predicted to decrease by 12 percent from last year to 190,000 acres. However, North Dakota’s estimated dry bean acres is expected to increase in 2023 by four percent to 590,000 acres.
