USDA has launched an interagency task force to evaluate competition in the seed industry. USDA officials will be joined by representatives of the Justice Department, Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Patent and Trade Office. An official with the Federal Trade Commission said this effort promotes innovation and competition, especially for “small and family-owned farms.”
