North American dry edible bean markets continue their sideways tone in
seasonally light trading conditions. Markets seem to be assessing crop
development and potential user demand. The U.S. dry bean price index was
unchanged for the week of June 17th, closing at 101.4 points. In contrast, the
global pulse price lost .6 points to finish at 100.4. The Canadian index was left
unchanged. Limited information is available on the condition of the dry edible
bean crops across much of the growing area, which resulted in markets looking
towards coming seeded area estimated for Canada and the U.S.
