The Environmental Protection Agency approved Minnesota’s request to set specific dates for dicamba application in 2022. Over-the-top dicamba applications can be made south of Interstate 94 after June 12 in Minnesota. Dicamba’s application cut-off date north of Interstate 94 continues to be June 30. The new label also prohibits over-the-top application when the air temperature is more than 85 degrees at the time of application. EPA says these restrictions are meant to reduce volatility and offsite movement of the product. The agency is still reviewing whether or not the product can be used in a manner that doesn’t pose risks to non-target crops.
