Division in Washington, D.C. is not good news for the next farm bill. Former House Ag Committee Chair Collin Peterson says getting a new farm bill passed will be an uphill battle. “One person says the situation is black and the other person says it’s white and there’s no one out there trying to bring this together; it’s troubling.” Speaking to crop insurance agents at NDSU’s Crop Insurance Conference in Fargo, Peterson said crop insurance is on good footing. “Politically, I don’t hear anyone making rumbling. We’ll be keeping an eye on the conversation.”
