Dry bean blooming in North Dakota is at 34 percent, behind 60 percent last year and near 38 percent average. One percent is setting pods. The crop is rating increased to 77 percent good to excellent. In Minnesota, blooming is at 18 percent, compared to 43 percent last year and 42 percent average. The crop rating dropped to 64 percent good to excellent.
Fifty-seven percent of the crop in Idaho is rated good to excellent. In Oregon, 64 percent of dry beans are rated good to excellent. Seventy-eight percent of dry beans in Washington are in good to excellent condition.
USDA is reporting 13 percent of Montana dry beans and chickpeas are blooming, behind last year’s pace of 90 percent. The Wyoming dry bean crop is 20 percent is bloomed and one percent setting pods, with a 73 percent good to excellent rating. Emergence is at 98 percent in Colorado and 20 percent blooming. The Michigan dry bean crop is rated 64 percent good to excellent and 69 percent emerged.
