Dry bean blooming in North Dakota is at 81 percent, behind 91 percent last year and near 82 percent average. According to the USDA Weekly Crop Progress report, 43 percent is setting pods, behind 56 percent last year. The crop is rating increased to 79 percent good to excellent.
In Minnesota, blooming is at 71 percent, compared to 47 percent last week and 86 percent last year. Setting pods is at 27 percent, behind 56 percent last year and 46 percent average. The crop rating decreased to 65 percent good to excellent this week.
The Idaho dry bean crop is rated 68 percent good to excellent. In Oregon, 65 percent of dry beans are rated good to excellent. Seventy-eight percent of dry beans in Washington are in good to excellent condition. USDA is reporting 52 percent of Montana dry beans and chickpeas are blooming, behind last year’s pace of 96 percent.
The Wyoming dry bean crop is 61 percent blooming and ten percent setting pods, with a 79 percent good to excellent rating. Blooming is at 41 percent in Colorado, behind 68 percent in 2018, with a rating of 79 good to excellent. The Michigan dry bean crop is rated 57 percent good to excellent and 18 percent blooming, behind 59 percent last year.
