Dry bean blooming in North Dakota is at 68 percent, behind 80 percent last year and ahead of 63 percent average. According to the USDA Weekly Crop Progress report, 14 percent are setting pods. The crop is rating is at 76 percent good to excellent. In Minnesota, blooming is at 47 percent, compared to 66 percent last year and 67 percent average. The crop rating increased to 69 percent good to excellent.

Sixty-three percent of the crop in Idaho is rated good to excellent. In Oregon, 65 percent of dry beans are rated good to excellent. Sixty-four percent of dry beans in Washington are in good to excellent condition. USDA is reporting 45 percent of Montana dry beans and chickpeas are blooming, behind last year’s pace of 96 percent.
The Wyoming dry bean crop is 44 percent bloomed and five percent setting pods, with a 79 percent good to excellent rating. Blooming is at 32 percent in Colorado, behind 54 percent in 2018, with a rating of 76 good to excellent. The Michigan dry bean crop is rated 57 percent good to excellent and 84 percent emerged.
