North Dakota farmers made planting progress over the last week, with over five days fit for fieldwork. Dry bean plantings are reported at 23 percent, compared to two percent last week. That is near 25 percent last year and 24 percent average.
Minnesota farmers took advantage of four and one-half days of suitable fieldwork the past week. Dry bean planting are at 14 percent, compared to two percent. That pace is behind last year at 36 percent and the five-year average of 33 percent.
USDA is reporting 55 percent Montana dry bean crop is planted, compared to 40 percent one week ago. Fifty-four percent of the crop is planted in Idaho, behind last year’s pace of 92 percent. In Oregon, planting is at 24 percent, behind 60 percent in 2018, and 48 percent of dry beans are planted in Washington. Wyoming dry bean farmers have 12 percent of the crop planted, and planting is at two percent in Colorado.
