North Dakota farmers made planting progress over the last week, with over five days fit for fieldwork. Dry bean plantings are reported at two percent, which is near four percent last year and behind seven percent average.
Minnesota farmers took advantage of just over three days of suitable fieldwork the past week. Dry bean planting are at two percent, which is one week behind last year and 11 days behind normal.
Farmers ranging from the Pacific Northwest to Michigan have begun the 2019 planting season. USDA is reporting 40 percent of the Montana dry bean crop is planted, compared to 15 percent one week ago. Wyoming dry bean farmers have three percent of the crop planted, and planting is at one percent in Colorado.
