Progress Seen in NAFTA Negotiations
March 06, 2018

The latest round of negotiations on a revised North American Free Trade Agreement has wrapped up in Mexico City. Progress was made, and the United States, Mexico and Canada reportedly have come to terms on the sanitary and phytosanitary portions of the agreement. As it relates to trade and inspections, the three countries plan to expedite food safety requests. A Mexican economic official said this chapter “guarantees animal and vegetable sanitation is based in science.”
