ND Executive Budget Announced
December 05, 2018

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum presented a $14.3 billion budget, raising state spending five percent during the 2019-2021 biennium. Included in recommendations are raises for state employees, replenishing the rainy-day fund, investing in rural healthcare and technical career education. “We recommend investing $2 million in the workforce development initiatives. The budget provides $750,000 to addressing the nursing shortage by providing matching funds for rural health facilities,” he said. “Another $250,000 will be allocated to grants to support giving students early exposure to North Dakota careers.” Burgum also addressed funding for North Dakota health and well-being, agriculture research and infrastructure.
