U.S. Dry Bean Exports Rise

U.S. dry bean exports to all destinations totaled 392,616 MT in the first nine months of the 2017-2018 marketing year. That's up 13 percent compared to the same period last year. The top five destinations were Mexico (115,342 MT), Canada (59,332 MT), Italy (39,190 MT), United Kingdom (30,306 MT), and the DR (25,936 MT). Over this period, the U.S. exported 66,565 MT of dry beans to trading partners in Central and South America and the Caribbean. The top five destinations in the region are the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Colombia, Guatemala and Panama. These five destinations accounted for more than 80 percent of all U.S. dry bean shipments to the region during the first nine months of the marketing year.
